Wonderful place to go!
When my boyfriend and I still lived in Arcata, we would go to Mazzottis at least once a week. They have the best bread, unique butter, and great food. The salads are amazing. Now we stop by and eat everytime we come to town. Please open a restaurant in Ukiah! We don't have any Italian in this town. I love the Eureka restaurant for its atmosphere. The Aracata restaurant isn't as intimate, more open and airy, but still has amazing food and service.

FROM ALISON
And for the guy who said it should be confined to small towns...you are an idiot! You think because someone can't spell...they don't know what they are talking about! Maybe you should go back to the REAL WORLD and learn something about REAL PEOPLE! Get a life! Thanks...Alison (wow I wrote my NAME!!)

Mazzottis in the hizzzouse!!!
This is the best restaurant I have been to in a while! I am from SF and have been to many world renown restaurants. I can eat here every day if my friends and family would let me. Don't believe the stupid people who give this great restaurant bad reviews...it is wonderful. You have the choice of soup, salad or fries with almost everything you order....and they are not small portions! The salad dressings are wonderful too! You start out with a great bread and garlic/herb butter and balsamic vinegar. My boyfriend and I could eat here for about $25 (each ordering a HUGE sandwich with salads and a drink), and we can either show up in sweats or nice clothes...either way we feel comfortable!. Yes, the waiters are sometimes on "Humboldt time" but that is okay...the food, price and atmosphere make up for it. Give this place a try! You will not regret it!

AWFUL!!!
This was by far the worst Italian "food" I have ever had.

The bread (the first thing they brought out to us) was stale. When I told the waitress this, she insisted that I was wrong and refused to take it back.

Then, the calzone that my date and I were going to share was filled with meat, even though we had stressed, when ordering it, that it had to be vegetarian with only onions, olives and mushrooms. When the error was pointed out to the waitress she became rude and verbally abusive, first asking us why we couldn't just eat it and then calling us "freaks" when we explained again that we were vegetarians.

When I asked to speak to the manager, she told me that there was no manager or owner available.

My date and I ended up leaving without paying.

It was an awful experience and I would NEVER recommend Mazzotti's to anyone!

Mazzotti's is the best Italian food restaurant I have ever been to. If you want a great atmosphere or an excellent meal this is the place for you. I personally have been going there since I was a little kid and whenever I am in Eureka or Arcata I make it a point to see the Mazzotti staff they are great. Joe great job and I am proud of you.

Interesting -- All of the reviewers make the same spelling errors.
I find it interesting that the majority of reviews for Mazzotti's are by anonymous people who all seem to make the same spelling and grammatical errors. Coincidence? Or are the owner's of Mazzotti's trying to attract some new business?

Personally, I understand why Mazzotti's is a small town restaurant and why the chef works there instead of in a real Italian restaurant in San Francisco or New York. The truth is that the food is not very good or very authentic.

On my recent visit, the pesto was oily, the salad wilted and the service poor.

My dinner companion had to send back her ravioli, twice, because it wasn't completely cooked. No apology was made for this and I couldn't help but hope that the boys who own Mazzotti's keep their little franchise confined to small towns where expectations for decent dining are obviously low. Diners in a big city wouldn't tolerate such poor quality.

ThankYou All!!
It is very nice to see all the good thoughts regarding mazzottis. We are always trying to improve the qaulity of our products. In early Feb. we will be opening our Mazzottis Catering, Food Products, And preperation facility in Eureka, This will allow us to have constent oversight of how all items for both Restaurants and Food products are prepared and delivered. This expansion will centralize many aspects of the business. Our purchasing power and wharehousing capacity serves to strengthen our Company and allowing it to grow as far as it may!

Thank You ALL! Joe Mazzotti (www.mazzottis.com) Please E-mail if you would like!

Mazzotti's is the best thing about Humboldt County.
That just about says it right there. I would rather drive to Eureka for dinner there than eat anywhere in Ukiah. Which, if you have ever eaten in Ukiah, is not saying much - But it is the best Itallian food I can recall eating.

Great food
Don't go to Mazotti's if you are in a hurry. Allow yourself some time to truly enjoy great italian cooking. Mazotti's is small, slow, and wonderful. The spinich raviolis and stuffed canneloni are fantastic. Feel like seafood? Try the frutti de mari; sure to please any palate. One suggestion: find a way to set up a bar. I know you guys serve beer and wine with dinner; how about setting up an area serving beer and wine where people could wait until they get a table? Fortunately for me, I've been there enough times that I walk right back to the bartender and get a beer while I'm waiting, but it would sure be nice to have a place to set.

Mazzottis Rocks
Mazzottis has catering and food products. You can have this delicious food delivered to any event of any size and they do it up too! You can also buy dressing at any local food markets (safeway, winco, rays, wildberrys, co-op and more! I find the place to very unique. As for the fries... they actually use fresh potatoes sliced per order. and they serve a mountain of them with their sandwiches. I have yet to have a less then qaulity meal at mazzottis, You can taste the real flavors in every bite! If you live in Eureka or arcata go now, if you are traveling to the Humboldt area, circle the map to go to these excellent restaurants.

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT BY FAR!
I absolutly love Mazzottis! The food is delicious, every item on the menu is wonderful, except for the fries... don't order them! But its an italian restaurant so its okay if the fries aren't good. Good service, good food. I also really enjoy their salads. And what I enjoy most is their prices!

Lucky Arcata, you're getting a Mazottis
Mazottis on the first Saturday of the Month, when it is Saturday Night Arts Alive in Eureka, and the entire of Old Town is jumping with jazz and happy people, this is the sort of thing that makes Eureka a really cool city to live in.

And now, Arcata is going to be getting a Mazottis too, in the place where the old Cafe Tomo used to be. (To be fair, we're getting a Cafe Tomo across the street from La Chapalla, Whee!)

Arcata, you're going to like this. If it is as good as the one we have in Eureka, you're going to have a place where good food is served well, where your folks can gather and enjoy, and be assured of excellent italian food in a downtown setting.

My favorite is the minestrone soup. But I haven't had anything yet that was unappetizing. I'm just a soup person. I know people who swear by their pizza, or lasagne, and I've tried the veggie lasagne, and find it good (although not the best in Old Town.)

If they can just lure the cook away from six rivers old town, then they will have it all!

That, and maybe less waiting???
